About Me
Screenwriter, Director
Leah Claire Borrie is a bicoastal screenwriter, director, and producer from New York and a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts with a BFA in Film Production. Leah has written numerous feature scripts, some of which have taken her to festivals, and is working in collaboration on their development.
Her latest project, "Babygirl", is a short film adapted from scenes out of a feature script of the same name, depicting the true story of Adele Rizoli, an audacious Italian-American girl who, in 1981, escaped her loveless marriage to find her soul mate, only to discover he was the Mob’s most talented young assassin.
She prioritizes stories that elevate the depiction of women in front of and behind the camera by writing characters who are authentically flawed and painfully relatable. Her stories often focus on stories that depict motherhood, daughterhood and their challenges. Leah puts a little bit of herself in every character she writes.
Leah has been building a production company called Scythian Productions, which strives to explore the potential of women when they are supported and empowered.
